By far the most devastating act of war or violence to ever happen on American soil was on September 11th, 2001 when planes were hijacked and flown into the World Trade Centers. The civilian loss of life was catastrophic, even if you don’t count the rescue workers and law enforcement that came to their aid.
This heinous chain of events launched the US into a war on terror that rages on today. The mastermind of these events, Osama Bin Laden, was eventually caught, but justice is far from served.

Nearly 800 families of the victims of 9/11 have sued the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia several times in federal court for its alleged support of the al-Qaida terrorist network, NBC News reports.
The families allege the Saudi government supported the terrorist network with logistical support, and highlights the role of Saudi charities connected to terrorism funding. The starkest claim in the suit alleges the Saudi government helped 9/11 hijackers in the U.S., even helping facilitate their travel. These claims have not been verified by the U.S. intelligence community or the 9/11 Commission.
The lawsuit is allowed under the 2016 Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act, which permits U.S. citizens to sue terror sponsors in civil claims court. The law was primarily intended to aid 9/11 families who were previously stymied by U.S. sovereign immunity laws for foreign governments.
There are questionable morals, and then there is this travesty. I country where charities support blowing people up and a government facilitates the logistics and travel of suicide bombers? That’s not a real country, that’s a land filled with rebels that decided to collect taxes.
While there’s not amount of money and damage compensation that will make up for the mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters that were snatched from their families, knowing that something was done to hopefully bring retribution to the country that sent them out of this world might help their loved ones sleep a little better.
